"Sundholm" is a family name derived from the blending of two Swedish words: "sund" (meaning "bay" or "sound") and "holm" (meaning "island"). The Sundholm name originated independently in various parts of Sweden, including northern lands which later became parts of Finland, when individuals chose it as a permanent family name.
