Sylvia began selling items on eBay back in July of 2004. Almost two years later, she's still going strong as both a seller and a buyer. Carl enjoys browsing eBay for rare cultural and historical artifacts from around the world, and original artwork. Check out Sylvia's current items for sale on eBay - her seller ID is tawagal. WeightWatchers Online Like a good friend, Weight Watchers is always there for you. Back to top Entertainment: Avenue Q Avenue Q is a musical all about Princeton, a bright-eyed college grad who comes to New York City with big dreams and a tiny bank account. With hilarious characters and songs, it's truly an experience to have to witness to understand. Think of it as Sesame Street for adults. We had the chance to see the musical at the Wynn on our latest trip to Las Vegas; but alas, its run is ending soon there. Hopefully, they'll pull together a touring group and the musical will come to us! In the meantime, visit www.avenueq.com to get an idea of what all the fuzz--er, buzz--is all about. "More drinks, more fun!" Wicked the Musical We had the opportunity to see this fantabulous musical on its tour stop at the Orpheum Theater in San Francisco. This brilliant musical is based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, and is basically the "back-story" of the Wizard of Oz. Elphaba (the Wicked Witch) and Galinda (that's with a "GAH") meet in college and the story follows their respective paths to "good" and "evil." Unfortunately, the SF tour ended on September 11, 2005. But if you ever find yourself in Chicago or New York, be sure to check out the permanent shows in each city. Learn more about this outstanding musical at their official website: Wicked the Musical. Or sit back and enjoy the awesome lyrics and music by Stephen Schwartz, especially the songs "Defying Gravity" and "Popular." Enjoy. Playhouse Disney Anna's new favorite television channel is Playhouse Disney, on the Disney Channel (each morning from 6:00 a.m. 'till 11:30 a.m.). Playhouse Disney features her friends the Wiggles, Little Einsteins, JoJo's Circus, Higglytown Heroes, and on the weekends the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, which is a brand new CGI half-hour show of Mickey and his pals. The Playhouse Disney website has tons of games, video clips and activites from each of the featured shows. Visit them online at www.playhousediney.com Back to top Stuff: ![]() Lush The whole family loves this company's fresh, handmade products for your hair, skin and bath (most organic & vegan). We're all "lushies" now. Check out their website or visit one of the shops (two locations in SF plus a new shop in Carmel). UPDATE! Lush is opening a new store in Westfield Valley Fair, Santa Clara! Current rumored opening date is December 15, 2006! Try the bubble bars, solid bath foam bars which you crumble under the running water to create mounds of bubbles. Some of our favorites are Creamy Candy Bath, which smells like sweet candy, and Little Monkey, which has a slice of real banana in it! ![]() IKEA Sweden has given the world so much: Volvos, ABBA, pickled herring...and also IKEA, providing the world with good design and function at an affordable price. Ingvar Kamprad created IKEA six decades ago, but more importantly he introduced the concept of the "flat box" in 1956, allowing millions to enjoy the experience of putting together their own furniture to save a few bucks. Visiting one of IKEA's stores is an event: with a little planning you can find everything you need quickly (you can check a store's stock levels from your home computer!) and still have time for a snack at the Swedish Food Market before you leave (yes, they have pickled herring!). Visit IKEA US online right now. Lakeshore Learning Materials This company makes and sells quite possibly the best toys and educational materials. Everything we've ordered or purchased from their store is virtually indestructible, and the toys get a lot of use at our home. Join the Lakeshore Member list to receive discounts and coupons via email. In San Jose, visit their store on Bascom Avenue, or visit their online store at www.lakeshorelearning.com Back to top |
